Residents of Mathura CHS allege negligence by civic authorities

Residents of Mathura CHS allege negligence by civic authorities
Like other housing societies of Vashi and Koper Khairane, this time the Mathura Co-Operative Housing Society, Sector 9A, Vashi has alleged that due to the negligence of civic authorities the residents are falling ill.
Secretary of the Mathura CHS, Kishore Gawade informs, "Just behind our housing society there is a huge 'nullah'. This drain is in a pathetic condition, the filth is never removed giving space for mosquitoes to breed. The residents also have to bear the foul smell."
Gawade informed that every month there is one or the other person being hospitalised from this society. Even his wife is getting treated in the hospital.
When enquired whether they have ever approached NMMC he said, "It's from years we have been running from pillar to post demanding Navi Mumbai Municipal Corporation to find a solution to the ill effects of the open drain. Unfortunately nothing has been done yet."
He further says about the assurances of the corporation which was never fulfilled, "Around a year back the corporation came up with a unique idea that the whole stretch will be covered and the space will be allotted for building up a mini market. Unfortunately neither the work of cleaning nor the development work was initiated till date," said Gawade.
