Martyrs paid tribute at rally
On March 23, 1931, Bhagat Singh, Sukhdeo and Rajguru sacrificed their lives for the freedom of our motherland. As a tribute to these heroes, every year this day is observed as Martyr's Day.
Navi Mumbai Arya Samaj also paid their tributes to these heroes by organizing a peace rally and kavya sammelan on March 21 and 23 respectively.
The procession started from Arya Samaj hall proceeding to areas including Masjid, Shivaji Chowk, Lakshwadeep Hospital and Gurudwara. Hundreds of residents gathered to pay their tribute by participating in both the events. Patriotic songs, poems and slogans could be heard on the streets and at
the venue.
RK Deewan, president and TR Bangiya, ex-president, Arya Samaj, BK Mohan, vice chairman and Ravindra Bhatia organising secretary, New Bombay Punjabi Association, Suresh Mungiyal, member Golden Club, Kesar Singh, social worker and secretary of Senior Citizens Association, Manju Gupta were present at the event.
Kesar Singh expressed, "We hope for celebrations on a larger scale from next year."
