City homemakers looted Thieves disguised as salespersons hypnotise and dupe them

Recently some homemakers in Vashi and Nerul were duped of their money by some women who disguised themselves as salespersons. We bring you a detailed account of the incident so that you become alert and don't become their next victim.
A woman residing in Sector 29 Vashi narrated how she become a victim of these thieves. She recalls, "On Friday afternoon at around 3 pm two young girls around 20-year olds knocked at our door. I was alone at home and thought them to be sales girls. They said they were from a tea company promoting their latest brand. I allowed them into the house to explain about the promotional offer. They also showed me the names and addresses of residents of the nearby societies where women had bought the products."
This homemaker got swayed by the gifts they were offering and kept chatting with them for a long time, trying to gather more information. She further says, "I don't know when I bought the products and when they left. I finally gained consciousness after about five hours and realized that I had paid them Rs 18,000 cash which was all that was available at home at that time. I realized that it was a clear case of hypnotism, which they had tried on me as even when I wanted to neglect them I was not able to do so."
She was given a receipt of the product, but the addresses printed on both of them were all fake. The lady had their mobile numbers so she approached the police, which proved to be a futile exercise.
The address printed on the receipt, turned out to be that of a Pan shop located at Thane near McDonalds. While the address printed on the product was that of an unknown shopkeeper of Sagar Darshan Society, Nerul. "There we came to know that we were not the only victims but many others like us had also visited the spot with similar complaints," said the helpless victim.
Similarly a middle aged woman, a resident of Sai Sagar Society, Sector -11 Koper Khairane was the victim of such hypnotizers who approached her with the same tea brand and looted Rs 3,000. There is a huge list of names that have turned prey. The list consists mostly of women staying in Higher Income Group houses. The area police has cautioned women not to allow any unknown persons into their homes, especially when they are alone. Even if they have the slightest doubt they should contact the police immediately.
