Two more AC bus routes for city

Two more AC bus routes for city
It's hay time for residents of Navi Mumbai as both the transport undertakings in the city are doing their best to provide value-added services. Within a span of one week both Navi Mumbai Municipal Transport Corporation and Brihan Mumbai Electricity Supply and Transport Undertakings have initiated two new routes.
On November 25, the NMMT started its second AC Volvo bus route from CBD to Dindoshi. Excise minister Ganesh Naik was chief guest at the event. Speaking on the occasion he said, "We are not in competition with BEST. Instead we are here to provide the best service to residents of Navi Mumbai".
Giving more detail on the bus service Jitendra Papalkar, general manager, NMMT said, "We have assigned nine buses for this route, which will ply at an interval of 32 to 35 minutes. The first and the last buses from CBD are at 6:10 am and 8:05 pm. While from Dindoshi the timings are 8 am and 10:10 pm respectively.
In the same week BEST too started its new route from Vashi Railway Station to Ghatkoper. Bus Number- S 51 will ply at the frequency of 27 to 38 minutes. The first and the last bus from Vashi Railway Station is at 8:35am and 9:00 pm respectively while from Ghatkoper it is 7:00 am and 7:20 pm.
This is with addition to AS-505 route operated between CBD-Belapur and Santacruz Depot and AS-503 route operated between Kalamboli and Wadala Depot.
Meanwhile, the heat generated between both the transport corporations on the issue of usage of bus depot is still on. None of them are willing to provide their depot spaces for the opponents' buses. Even drivers and conductors of NMMT are not allowed to use BEST depot for nature's call. They have to ride for more than two hours to reach their destination. It's really tough time for employees however it's a hay time for the passengers for receiving best of services.
