Navi Mumbai should not turn into concrete jungle: CM
Chief Minister Ashok Chavan visited Navi Mumbai on January 25 to mark his presence during the Navi Mumbai festival.
He gave the go-ahead to many projects on the occasion. The projects are:
o Launch of low cost housing project of CIDCO at Ulwe.
o Inauguration of central park in Kharghar.
o Handing over of keys of Vastuvihar and Celebration societies at Kharghar.
o Inauguration of 'Wetland', a joint project of TERI and CIDCO at Khandeshwar lake.
o Foundation stone laying of three new police stations to come up at Nerul, Kharghar and Kamothe.
During his visit, the CM noted the lack of trees in the city and asked authorities to ensure that Navi Mumbai should not turn into a concrete jungle.
He was accompanied by guardian ministers Sunil Tatkare of Raigad and Ganesh Naik of Thane, MP Sanjeev Naik, MLAs Sandeep Naik and Prashant Thakur, MLC Manda Mhatre, CIDCO chairman Nakul Patil, MD GS Gill, directors Subhash Bhoir and Namdeo Bhagat, NMMC commissioner Vijay Nahata, police commissioner Gulabrao Pol and other dignitaries.
