Ganesh Naik and his son hold sway
Navi Mumbai residents have voted for Ganesh Naik as their new MLA. NCP-Congress Belapur candidate Ganesh Naik has beaten his nearest poll rival, BJP-Shiv Sena's Suresh Haware with a margin of 12,873 while his son Sandeep Naik has won from Airoli constituency with a margin of 11,957. Ganesh Naik was previously elected as MLA in 1990, 1995 and 2004.
Naik's win has again raised hopes of completion of various development projects which had been promised by him. Among them are 24x7 water supply, parking issues, new drainage lines, redevelopment of dilapidated buildings etc. Ganesh Naik said after his win, "It's the people's victory that I and my son have won. We will complete all the ongoing projects as well as initiate new projects as promised by us".
