12 candidates in fray for 151 Belapur constituency

October 13 is the D-day when 12 candidates will fight it out for 151 Belapur Assembly constituency. Their fate will be known on October 22 when the results will be announced.
There are 1,70,440 males and 1,40,892 females summing to 3,11,332 voters from this constituency who will be voting from 309 polling stations. Out of them, 66,985 voters are from Vashi itself and include 35,690 males and 31,295 females who will cast their votes at 71 polling stations.
Of the contestants Thane Guardian Minister Ganesh Naik of NCP is a two time winner as MLA, Suresh Haware of BJP in alliance with Shiv Sena is the only tough competitor for him. Congress rebel Namdeo Bhagat is fighting for the 'identity' of Congress party against high command's diktat.
